Ken was very patient and helpful
through the whole process of me getting my first prosthesis and CROW walker. He carefully explained everything to me and made sure I understood what was happening but also why it was done that way. I recommend Ken and Family O&P!

My life changed on March 21, 2015, but it didn't end. I lost my left leg below the knee in a freak UTV accident. Sometimes life lessons are hard ones. The hardest lessons are the ones that make you or break you. Thank goodness I have a heavenly father who never disappoints, and he certainly didn't through this difficult time. After my accident, I met many beautiful people who made a difference in my life. At just the right time, I was introduced to Ken Vyvlecka, the prosthetist at Family Orthotics and Prosthetics, for the fitting of a new prosthesis. He made a positive difference in my recovery, and we have worked together ever since. Ken was referred to me by my dear friend, Regina Hanson, who is also an amputee and highly recommended him. I am so thankful she did. Ken has helped me stay active in all stages of my recovery. I still do the things I love. Whether it's working on our ranch, gardening, playing with grandchildren, or taking care of our pets, Ken has kept me on my feet. I am so blessed to be walking, spending time in nature, and being with my husband Brent. Life is full of changes. Some set you back harder than others, but they don't stop you from living. I thank God for bringing me through some very rough times and providing good people along the way to help.

I have worked with Ken for several years during which he has made me 3 or 4 prosthetic legs. They all fit perfectly. I am a 75-year-old man with a below-the-knee amputation. At the time Ken built my first leg, I was living in Imperial, NE which is about a 3-hour drive to the Kearney office. Once Ken started his satellite clinic in North Platte, it cut my drive time in half which helped me get my prosthetic faster. I live near Scottsbluff now so having his new satellite location in Ogallala is even more accessible to me. About five years ago, I had both my knees replaced and had Ken build me a new socket. I have never walked more comfortably since I lost my leg in 1967. Ken will work with you anyway he can and is a very talented man!

My experience with Family O&P has been nothing but extraordinary.
They have taken the time to answer all my questions and concerns while I get use to becoming an amputee. It has been a journey that I could not have done without their understanding and patience. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has questions about this new phase of one's life.

Ken is an awesome guy! He is so great and kind to his patients. They are like family. I have been with Family O&P for a long time. I have no family and he is like a big brother to me! Family O&P is great!

Always helpful and friendly, would recommend to anyone!
Ken has been making my prosthetics since 2018. He's not only made one for everyday use, but modified a socket with a removable foot so I could ride my bike with ease. The art work and design of the socket is just the way I wanted it.
